Off-Campus Work-Study offers you the opportunity to:

• Receive coaching on your resume and cover letter(s)
• Become familiar with the real-world work environment
• Work in a position related to your career field to add to your resume
• Meet professionals in your career field
• Interview with the employers who make the job offer

Off-Campus Work-Study Opportunity:

Community Work-Study (CWS)

1. Work at a non-profit, government agency or a school district

2. Your job will ideally be related to your major

3. Easy-entry employment requires minimal work experience or coursework

4. Requires resume

1.      Complete the electronic application (On the “Search Jobs” section below, click on your home college) 

2.      alamo.edu/careerprep (ACES login required) for a complete listing of employers and jobs

3.      Select up to three positions

4.      Create or reformat your resume in this required format: CWS Resume 2025

5.      Send your job choices and resume as WORD docs to kdriscoll2@alamo.edu

• You are committing to remain with the employer for a minimum of one semester.
• You will determine your weekly schedule with your supervisor on the first day of work.
• You will work between 10 and 19 hours per week at $15.33 for CWS jobs
• You will be paid on the 1st and the 15th of each month
• Employers depend on you to be reliable and consistent with your set work schedule.
• Workplace etiquette, professionalism and appropriate dress is expected at all times.
• You will receive a Student Off-Campus Work-Study Handbook with detailed information.
