Job Search

From the classroom to career, Alamo on the Job Interns are matched to an off campus top-rated business within the Greater San Antonio Area and will receive paid on-the-job training to succeed in their chosen field of study. The duration of an internship can last up to 6 months, and the interns are able to work up to 20 hours per week. 

• Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be 17 years or older.
• Students will need to have minimum 2.5 GPA.
• Students must be actively enrolled in a minimum of one credit course at one of the five Alamo Colleges. 
• Interns must be eligible to work in the U.S.

The Alamo Colleges District is requiring prospective Interns to submit an initial application through the Student Employment Career site on Alamo Talent. 

1. Complete the application by using your Alamo Colleges student email address.
   
2. Submit a resume with your application.
3. You will receive an email from Who's Next to complete an Intake Form.
4. Schedule and complete an internship candidate pre-screen via Zoom with your AOTJ Recruiter, so that you can be matched with an employer.
5. Once internship placement has been confirmed, the Alamo on the Job candidate will need to complete the next steps in the hiring process.

As an Alamo on the Job Intern you can expect to gain hands on career experience with job shadowing, assisting in and contributing to a team project, and career training to increase skill set. All interns are assigned a mentor dedicated to their learning that will provide coaching, guidance, and networking opportunities.  At the end of the Alamo on the Job Internship, students are ready to conquer the workforce.
